Mid-Cities Barber College

Military Benefits

Mid-Cities Barber College is approved by the Texas Veterans Commission for the training of eligible veterans and other qualified individuals under the provisions of Title 38, U.S. Code for VA educational benefits.

If you served on active duty, you may be eligible for education benefits offered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides financial assistance for tuition, fees, and housing to individuals with qualifying active duty service after September 10, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability.

Eligibility for VA education benefits is determined solely by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Spouses and dependents may also be eligible for transferred benefits under applicable VA guidelines.

Students must apply for VA education benefits directly through the VA. Once approved, the school will assist with certification of enrollment. Benefit amounts, payment schedules, and duration of benefits are determined by the VA, and students are responsible for any costs not covered by their benefits.

In accordance with 38 U.S.C. § 3679(e), Mid-Cities Barber College adopts the following policy for any students using U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33) or Veteran Readiness and Employment (Chapter 31) benefits, while payment to the institution is pending from the VA:

The school will not prevent the student’s enrollment, assess a late fee, require the student to secure alternative or additional funding, or deny access to any resources (including classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities) available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee requirements.

This policy applies to any student who provides a certificate of eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under Chapter 31 or Chapter 33, or a Statement of Benefits obtained through the VA’s eBenefits system (or a successor system), and provides a written request to be certified. The student is responsible for providing documentation necessary for certification and for any portion of tuition and fees not covered by VA benefits.
